How much does clock repair cost?
Most cleaning and oiling services fall between $150 and $325 depending on the movement. A full overhaul of a chiming movement typically runs $400 to $700. We give a firm written quote after inspection and never start work without your approval.
How long will my clock take?
Bench work usually takes three to five weeks. That includes a two-week run test after reassembly, which is the only honest way to confirm a repair holds.
Do you make house calls for grandfather clocks?
Yes. Tall case clocks should not be transported by the owner. We service them in your home throughout Lakewood, Denver, Golden, Arvada and the surrounding metro.
What kinds of clocks do you work on?
Weight- and spring-driven antiques, cuckoo clocks, mantel and wall clocks, regulators, 400-day anniversary clocks, ships bell clocks and quality quartz conversions.
Do you work on quartz clocks?
Yes, though most quartz repairs are inexpensive movement replacements. We will tell you honestly when a repair costs more than a new movement.
Can you repair a clock with missing parts?
Usually. We keep a stock of period hands, gongs, bezels and glass, and we fabricate small parts on the lathe when nothing suitable exists.
Do you buy or appraise clocks?
We do not buy clocks. We provide informal condition assessments and can refer you to a certified appraiser for insurance or estate purposes.
Do you offer pickup and delivery?
Yes, for large or fragile clocks within the Denver metro. Fees depend on distance and are quoted in advance.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, check and all major credit cards. Payment is due when the clock is returned.
Is there a diagnostic fee?
There is no charge for a phone consultation. Bench inspection of a movement is applied toward the repair if you proceed.
How accurate should a mechanical clock be?
A well-serviced mechanical clock keeps time within a minute or two per week. Anything better is a bonus; anything worse suggests it needs regulation.
Do you service clocks for businesses and estates?
Yes. We maintain clocks for law offices, hotels, museums and estate managers on annual service contracts.
